About Dana
Some people are born with music in their blood and Dana French is one of them. Born in Chicago to
Wallace French, considered a first pick drummer in Chicago who played with such greats as Ernest
Tubb, Porter Wagner and Buck Owens. Being around these legends in the music industry led to the
influence on Dana's music.
Playing the guitar at the age of 8 and writing songs almost as long, Dana has
amassed a catalog of original songs well over 300 and counting. Dana's music
paints a picture of life that is like none other.
With music in his soul and the desire to follow his dreams, Dana co-founded in the
late 70's the band DELUXURY. A rockin' R&B Blues band who had a popular
base of support throughout a 6 state region in the Midwest United States. The
band Deluxury released one album on "Hot Vinyl Records" out of Hollywood
California with sponsorships including Miller Beer, Hammer Guitars, Shure Mics, Audio
Technica and many more.
Through this relationship, Dana has had the pleasure of opening up for and
sharing the stage with the likes of Robert Plant, Joe Jackson, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy
Vaughn, Dickey Betts, Joan Baez and the Legendary Stevie Ray Vaughn. Stevie and Dana became
friends instantly and later spent many hours playing together in green rooms and on tour buses.
Upon leaving the band in the late 80's Dana continued on playing throughout the Midwest. Now playing
his original music and following his true passion. His original music has caught the notice from some of the
top name artists in the industry including Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose, Buddy Miles, Lonnie
Mack, the great Mick Taylor, Lonnie Brooks and the legendary Queen of The Blues Koko Taylor. In 2003
he released his first album with Hidden Tracks Records of Chicago
containing 14 original tracks. His second solo album released in 2014 titled "Just
Me" features 11 original intimate songs about a life like no other.
